Rocky Point had been a staple of Rhode Island culture since the turn of the century. In the winter of 1997, it was announced that the park would not reopen, and it's contents would be auctioned off. Pam Murray and myself hoofed it down there and Pam took these photos. It was odd walking around a deserted amusement park in winter, but seemed like a fitting way to say goodbye.
